Loved my stay! This is an older boutique hotel; it has character & quirks. If you want a standard, airport-type hermetically sealed hotel, you shouldn't choose this place.
The very clean wood floors do creak, but the mattress was perfect--pillowtop & firm support (foam /spring hybrid), clean crisp linens, and 6 (smaller) pillows. Earplugs provided.
The mini (more like a Maxi) bar is over the top! Sodas, wine, beer, booze, cocktails, unique snacks, chips, candy, & very reasonable $. (Sodas $2-3, cocktail in can $8, btl of champagne $60) Bag of ice in the freezer. Wine & bottle opener in rm.
Bathroom was clean, functional. Environmentally-conscious amenities in large refillable bottles in shower. Kimono style bathrobes.
The Havana Bar in the basement must not be missed! The vibe is dark & cozy, a hidden grotto of cocktail wonderfulness that must be explored throughly.
Ocho restaurant was also fabulous. It's small-be sure to make reservations. Overlooking a quiet section of the Riverwalk, with large roll-up doors that can be opened as weather allows, I loved the big chandeliers. The small 2top tables were cute, but a bit too small. Loved the salmon belly ceviche w/plantain chips.
This is a great hotel for a weekend getaway and I hope to come back soon.
