Great location and facilities
Publicado el 2 jun. 2019 en HotelsGreat place to stay in a fantastic location and helpful staff. There was no air conditioning in the room though so had the windows open and you could hear the festival music until 1:30 and lots of people talking on the street.

Excellent location, fairly comfy.
Publicado el 17 jun. 2018 en HotelsFantastic central location, a minute away from Casa de las Conchas, 5 minutes from Plaza Mayor and the Cathedral. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice common area and a small outside terrace at the back of the property. Could do with an upgrade in some areas, eg individual power socket for each bunk. Beds were comfy but slightly creaky. All in all fine for a budget stay.

Misleading amenities

I chose a higher priced room that pictured a room with two twin beds, but when I arrived I was told I was in a four person dorm. They were nice enough (or I complained enough?) to put me in a four person dorm to myself. But then I was told I was being emotional.
Don't be fooled by the photo of the washing machine in the kitchen and "laundry facilities" listed as an amenity; I was charged 6.50 euro upon checkout for using it (the most expensive during my 3 months in Spain).
The buffet breakfast is actually just toast and coffee at their nearby cafe.
When I pointed these things out to the staff I was told it was a translation issue on Expedia/Orbitz. I asked if the photos were also a translation issue?

Double booked us.
Publicado el 7 sept. 2017We booked a room with an en-suite but when we arrived we found out that they had double booked so we had to use a shared bathroom. We weren't too fussed about the shared bathroom but its the principal more that anything, you should get what you pay for! We were staying two nights but only got 4 euros compensation! If you consider that we would have booked somewhere else if we had known, 4 euros compensation is really poor!! Beds weren't particularly comfortable and also made a racket whenever anyone moved in the night.

Perfectly good Hostel in the middle of the City

Pros: The Price, the Ambiance, the Location.
Contras: Put a pouch for spectacles etc. on the bunks.
Lugar: The Old City of Salamanca is a dream place full of historic buildings, interesting bars and modern shops.
Over all the experience was a good one. Over the years I have stayed in a lot worst than this one, which overall was a friendly experience.
The only annoying thing about the bunk bed was that there was no little nook or shelf where things like spectacles or wristwatch or even your book can be placed safely overnight.
The advertising said that I had uses of a shared bathroom facility which I assumed was for the room I was in but it was in fact for three rooms (each with six people in them) which caused delay sometimes.
The short stroll to the breakfast place was pleasant - when it wasn't raining! as I was there in February it rains in Salamanca.
