We have used VRBO several times within the US and abroad. Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience with this property. Below is a summary on our stay from 12/23 to 12/26/2019.
Instructions: No instructions for the apartment (either in the VRBO site or in a binder at the apartment).
WiFi: There was no WiFi. It was disconnected by the internet company. They had to come the next day to install a new router, etc.
Water: The pump that serves the building was having issues and water was intermittent.
Stove: Burners were not working. According to the doorman, a few days ago they had done a gas leak test and air needed to be purged. They fixed this issue after purging the air from the gas line. The door knobs of the stove are unreadable as pointed out in another review.
AC: The 3 AC units worked fine, but 2 of the remote controls were not working. One of them did not have batteries. We bought new batteries but still did not work.
TV: There is only one small old TV in the main bedroom.
Use of Common Areas: A main feature is the Lagoon Pool. When we tried to get in, security told us that they were not notified about us and we could not get in. They made a few phone calls and we were granted access to the area for “visitors” not for “owners”. The owners’ area is much nicer (closer, larger, more umbrellas, etc.).
Horses: At nights you could see a group of horses roaming around the parking lots around the cars. Not sure if any other guest will care about this but this was unusual and provided for information.
Loose dogs: The owner allowed us to take my mother’s Maltese dog with us, which was very nice. However, when we took out our dog in the morning, we saw a pack of wild dogs roaming around the complex.
Roads/Parking Areas: Roads and parking lots are overdue for repair/resurfacing. A lot of holes and grass growing in paved areas.
Beach: Access to the beach is reasonable. You can see litter/debris in the beach in front of the complex. We went closer to the hotel and the beach was cleaner and well kept.
Cleaning: No vacuum cleaner or broom to clean.
Communications: We tried to contact the owner by Email/phone but never able to talk with them directly. Somehow, our issues did get to the building administrator, but she never talked with us either on what was going on or when we should expect the issues to be resolved. Staff was sent to fix things and we let them in, but it would have been nice to know in advance for us to plan accordingly.
