Beautiful and spacious villa with amazing views
We had a wonderful week staying in Tamariu - 2 "grown-ups" and 5 young adults aged 18-22. The villa was excellent, in a quiet but convenient location above the little resort with superb views down to the beach and the coastline. A 5 minute walk down brings you to the pretty seafront with its restaurants and a few shops - bakery and Spar for everyday essentials - but a steep climb back up! Lovely infinity pool, huge living room, large outdoor dining table, and wonderful upper terrace with shaded sitting area. The photos do not do this glamorous house justice! The 4 main bedrooms and 3 bathrooms are very spacious and comfortable, though the 5th room is a tiny bunkroom off the kitchen. The table tennis, BBQ and telescope were all much appreciated. The kitchen is very well equipped (though strangely no family-sized saucepans!). We had a beautiful (but fairly challenging in places) 40min walk along the coast path to Cala Pedrosa's rocky beach, but you can continue further on and follow a circuit walk to Llafranc and back to Tamariu. We visited the castle Salvador Dali bought for his wife Gala, at Pubol, returning via the nearby medieval town of Begur. Another trip was to the beautiful Botanic Gardens at Cap Roig, followed by a swim at pretty little El Golfet beach. Tamariu is a quiet friendly little place, frequented by mainly Spanish families, but our young people were happy just relaxing and were not troubled by the lack of nightlife. We didn't use our hire cars much (and the steep narrow road up to the villa put our young drivers off the idea of driving anywhere on their own!), but Tamariu is well placed for big supermarkets and a market in Palafrugell, as well as several different tiny beaches and small resorts. And only about 1hours easy drive from Gerona airport.
