Loved this authentic little apartment in Florence!
We stayed in Silvia’s apartment for 5 nights; it was the perfect size for my husband, 17 year old daughter and myself. It is very centrally located and on a great little pedestrian street. The Duomo, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, Piazzale Michelangelo and train station are all within a 30 minute walking distance. We also felt very safe in this part of town, even letting our daughter go out on her own to shop and get a bite to eat. The apartment is a walk up a few flights of stairs but we didn’t mind as it’s a fairly easy walk up. Silvia and Emanuel greeted us upon check in, they walked us through information about the apartment and even left an information booklet of just about everything from how to use the washing machine to different transportation options to nearby restaurants (La Ghiotta was our favorite for a very home style Italian dinner, although there are a bunch of great restaurants and cafe’s all around). Silvia also went over a map of nearby grocery stores and bus stops and left us a nice bottle of Chianti as a welcome gift. The apartment is very cute and is also very clean. The beds and pillows are comfortable and extra blankets are provided, the entire apartment is well appointed. The a/c units worked very well and Silvia even provided an oscillating fan upon request. Silvia was incredibly accommodating and even helped us get a taxi to the train station after my husband rolled his ankle. The only downside some may encounter is some spotty WiFi coverage (not really a big deal for us) and there is a baby/toddler that lives in the apartment next door, so my daughter wore earplugs while sleeping because the walls in the upstairs bedroom were a bit thin (again not an issue that couldn’t be overcome). We loved all the traditional little touches of this apartment including the beamed ceilings, shutters, decor and little walk down en-suite bathroom. And Silvia was truly a wonderful host! We would absolutely stay here again!!!
