Annoying

I have stayed at the Star Inn a few times previously but was a little disappointed this time. Firstly there is nobody there Mondays so you have to gain access the your room key from a safe hidden in a corner of the carport. Fine, but there were 2 safes to choose from. My email told me the safe number ending in "A", so I tried several times to open the safe that had the "A" key on it, to no avail. I then opened another email they'd sent me only to find a different keycode which worked on the second safe. Why on earth would they have 2 safes, provide me with 2 different codes and only have my key in one of them?
My room was comfortable albeit chilly until the heating cranked up. I was disappointed to find that although there was a small desk, there was no chair (!) so I was forced to spend the evening on my laptop doing my work while sitting on the bed.
I had tea at the Saracens hotel 100 yards away & ended up having breakfast there too, since from what I can gather the Star offered a paper bag of goodies as their idea of breakfast. This was inadequate during lockdown, but now that we are free to have a real breakfast it's just annoying.
In conclusion I won't stay there again. There are other places available in the region that supply service in the form of real live human beings.
