Pro's: right in old city center, lots of sights and restaurants close by. Very modern, comfy, well-equipped apartment. Super clean, all new with great kitchen and bath, plus a roof terrace with nice furniture to enjoy an early evening wine. The kitchen is very well equipped, stove, 'fridge, all the items needed to cook and serve, and all new. Very spacious and good internet - tv connections, tho' not much in English.
Con's: Hard to find. You MUST call Marie, the proprietor, and arrange to meet her as this truly is an apartment well-hidden in a city block. The apt. name is only displayed inside the building at the entry door on the 2nd (3rd for Westerners) floor. There is no on-site parking; you need to use a city garage several blocks away, unless you get lucky as we did to get a street-side space right in front of the building. Hotels.com says there is an elevator - lift. THERE IS NONE! Marie's website does not advertise a lift, and she says the apt. has a queen-size bed, which it does. But, Hotels.com says there is a King bed, and there is not. Luckily, there is a pull-out sofa, so my spouse didn't have to endure my endless night-time thrashing.
All in all, I recommend this property if you understand the limitations. Proprietor Marie went all-out to make our stay wonderful, including providing loads of literature re. the city of Colmar and the surrounding area, including her recommendations for all sorts of items. Thanks, Marie!
