The first room they gave us was awful , I can only describe it like a prison cell! It was in an outhouse ( separate from the main hotel) It only had one tiny window , high up that you couldnt see out of , it was cold in the room and very drab. I asked if we could pay extra to upgrade to a nicer room as i felt really claustrophobic and it was cold. Unfortunately they only had one other room available. It was in the main hotel. The receptionist showed me the room and said there was no extra charge. It was an improvement to the first room but only because it was warm and had a window that you could actually see out of! We agreed to have this room but as we started unpacking we noticed there was a draft coming through the window, this was because the latch had broken off so was only held shut by the lower latch , leaving a gap all the way around. The ceiling was leaking in 3 places and you could actually hear the water dripping onto the carpet throughout the night. The bed wasnt even a standard double. It was a small double ( princess bed) the pillows overhung either side of the mattress as it was so narrow ! It only had one spot light as you walked in and 2 very small bedside lights. I had to put my phone torch on to see into the wardrobe to get my clothes out ! The whole room was very tatty and drab , definitely not worth £165 per night ! Weve stayed in premier inns for 2 nights for this price and had much better quality decor and at least a good size comfy bed !!!
