Our family met at Scot’s house for Christmas vacation. There were 7 adults and a 9 month old baby. We arrived from CO, NY, MA and VT. The location was perfect for us. The setting of the house is SPECTACULAR! In the 10-15 minute drive from the Fresh Creek airport to the house we did not see any buildings and rarely encountered another car. We appreciated the private/remote setting yet were thrilled to have all the comforts of home. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The decor is pleasing and the bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable. Each room has a screened in porch and 3 of the 4 bedrooms have ocean views. I corresponded several times with Scot before the trip and his responses came quickly with honest and thorough answers to my questions. We are an outdoor group and there was plenty to keep us entertained right there at the house....kayaking, canoeing, sailing, snorkeling, fishing, bike riding, walking on the beach and collecting treasures in the water during low tide. We did venture into Andros Town for some groceries and a couple of meals but we had packed frozen meat in a cooler and checked it with our baggage so we didn’t need much more. The groceries were expensive and some items such as bread and milk were hard to find after our first day on the island. We hit 2 good farm stands for fresh fruit and vegetables. We also drove out to the Blue Hole Park which was very cool. There’s a neat diving/jumping platform that we took advantage of. We also took a drive to the southern tip of the north island. The locals were extremely friendly wherever we went and just about everyone in Fresh Creek knows Scot. He is clearly well respected on the island. It was an unexpected pleasure to actually meet him on our last day. He shared a bit of his interesting life story with us and talked a bit about the building of the house. My only regret about the whole trip was that we went in December when we had the least amount of daylight to enjoy all that Andros has to offer. However we had a lot of good laughs around then dining room table each evening with a deck of cards and the Kalik and rum flowing. We can’t wait to go go back!
