Swimming Pool disappointment
The hotel is actually on the rockiest part of the coast with no beach close to it so we had to walk 10 mins through a quiet neighbourhood to get to the nearest tram line. From there you can go to San Juan beach (fairly quiet beach but not many places to get food or drink) or towards Alicante town and the beach there (much busier, usually locals coming after work or with their families etc). The hotel also did not have a swiimming pool so, if you are looking for somewhere relaxing and to have all you need under one roof, this is not the place for you! The hotel was also the nosiest hotel we have ever stayed in - the rooms are split across 3 storeys with the main reception and dining area on top, so from 3/4am in the morning you are woken by the sound of table and chairs being moved around and scraped across the floor above you and constant hoovering, banging, cleaning etc from about 7am onwards (not good if you were enjoying a night out Spanish style i.e. late!).

Would stay there again!
It was a lovely place to stay for our first night in Spain. Although it is an older hotel, it was very clean and well maintained. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and helpful. Our room had a terrific view of the Mediterranean and it was quiet. We could enjoy the sound of the ocean outside of our room and balcony. The breakfast in the morning was a wonderful surprise with the traditional Spanish fare with many choices and fresh juice and good coffee. Park in the back, and don’t let how dark it may get frighten you.(we arrived after 10pm)It was very safe. We ate at the restaurant on the premises and it was great too. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone in the area of Alicante. It was not far from the airport, and after a long trip from the States, it was perfect for us.
