Great Hotel in Cairo
Safir Hotel was a great experience for us arriving in Cairo. The Hotel is well located and service is excellent. We arrived at 3 am in the morning after 20 hour trip and were able to order exquisite room service and have a good rest before venturing into El Cairo downtown. We were refered to a local taxi driver who took us to the Market, Citadel, Coptic Museum and Cairo Museum all day long droping us and then picking us up in every spot with a great smile and good advice on what to see it was a great way of getting to know El Cairo at our own pace.

Clean and nice but....there are some problems
it was basically clean and nice hotel but there were some problems which dequalifies this hotel as 5 star hotel: not being able to call outside from the hotel room; electronic card key was sporadically functioning; awful city view from the room (dirty streets, buildings). I would recommend to stay in other 5 stars such as intercontinental, 4 seasons, or hilton all located along the Nile river.
