Cairo oasis
Near the airport and behind a secure wall, this destination, completely self-contained, hotel and casino (for non-Egyptians only) did exactly what we needed- a two day stay with limited tourist activities. We sat by the pool, enjoyed the workout facilities and watched the kids at the adjacent equestrian center. A nearby restaurant had a wifi hotspot, so we sipped coffees and watched the evening horse classes. Tht pool and louging area is quite nice, the room amenities more than suitable. The airport pickup (arranged in advance) and drop off worked wonderfully compared to a taxi ride. The neighborhood has nothing that you can walk to, so you are captive in the hotel unless you take a taxi. Upgrade to the business level- breakfeast, tea and happy hour is included along with access to the work out facilities and reduced wifi charge. But if you aren’t on the 2nd floor, no reduced internet- other floors are served by an expensive ISP. I would stay here again, especially at the beginning or end of a trip to Egypt.

Excellent
Just got back from a 5 night stay. Thought i would let you know some important ’facts’ while i still remember. Booked the executive rooms so paid a litttle extra for the happy hour from 7pm to 9pm. Bad Breakfast in executive lounge very poor (dont bother) - excellent at the normal restaurant on the ground floor The happy hour in the executive lounge - good deal with free alcohol but food provided is very poor and the atmosphere a bit awkward. Non local drinks very expensive - double gin and tonic nearly £13!! Remember all prices do not include the 22% sale and service charge. Good: Service excellent Pool area very quiet, easy to get a lounger. Everything you need, squash, tennis, horse riding, Cinema (dont know how much these things cost as did not partake) Gym (free) very good. Casino was fun - free drinks if gambling. Did not know this and when asked for a bill, got charged - bit disappointed they did not tell me (they obviously knew it should be complimentary) Rooms were fantastic Hotel transfer excellent - great to see my name at arrivals after a long flight. I emailed a few days before arrival. Great communication. Location great - away from the city centre which is just what we wanted as it was quiet and relaxing. We went to the pyramids on a saturday and the traffic was quite light. About 40 min trip. No kids Prices in the hotel for beer and food roughly the same as Britain (high street not 5 star hotel) Would definately recommend this hotel.

airport overnight
The staff was pleasant and helpful. Airport shuttle service was prompt. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable, but it is a bit ’tired’. The value is good and the near-the-airport location is just what we needed. Some reviewers found smoke smell to be a problem. There was no issue in our room or in any of the public places so this may be an issue that has been corrected.
