Beach Club Colony Resort All Inclusive

If they were going to be there next year we would be going back!!!!!!!!

Seven Mile Beach was exceptional, Beach Club Colony was like part of the of way things used to be and very personable!!!! Hope it will be able to stay!!!!

Charming and GREAT for travelers on a budget

Condition: We arrived at the hotel prepared for a not so luxurious stay due to the two star rating but were in love with it by the end of our stay! The hotel is not in great condition and not as fancy as other hotels on 7 mile beach but WHO CARES the beach is phenomenal. Definitely worth it to pay extra for the ocean view rooms, the standard rooms can not compare. Meal plan: All inclusive is definitely the best way to go on the island since everything is SUPER expensive. The food was amazing and the service was pretty good. Service: Some went more out of their way than others but a very comfortable stay overall. Lacks: I would say is activities on the hotel. There was usually not much going on especially since we went during low season. It is VERY hot in August, pretty much unbearable in the sun from noon to 3PM. The pool was also NOT swimmable. It’s a shame too because it has a swim up bar. Cruise ships: Some reviews I read complained about the cruise ships but they would come in at about 9AM and leave by 2PM. The hotel also reserved tables for us for meals as well as chairs and umbrellas on the beach. The visitors did not bother our stay at all. If you are on a budget and looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation then Beach Club is the place to go. We highly recommend dishing the extra bucks for the Ocean View Room. It is literally steps away from the beach!

Getting around: The taxis are ridiculously expensive. If you want to go downtown, get on the shuttle van. It is only $2.50 (US) and $2 (CI). ALSO, definitely get shuttle transportation to the hotel they really overcharge for taxis from the airport. Attractions: Stingray City is a MUST!!! Absolutely amazing! Nightlife: The Wharf Restaurant and Bar is BEAUTIFUL! They have salsa lessons and dancing every Tuesday night at 9PM as well as Tarpon feeding!

Worth the price

The service and staff were great! The location and atmosphere could not have been any better. Our room was clean, but below normal standards and would not have been acceptable at most other hotels. However, we knew this before the trip and our goal was not to hangout in our room. We were on the island for a wedding and visited several other hotels while we were there. The other hotels were nicer, but had the ambiance of your typical hotel in any other city except they were on the beach. We wanted the island experience and we received it at the Beach Club Colony. The staff addressed us by name and they went out of their way to make us as comfortable as possible. We did the all-inclusive and saved us a ton of money on food and other activities that they provided. We are already planning on making another trip next year and plan on staying at the Beach Club Colony again.

The beach is great, hotel is very old, soon will be replaced with condominiums and the people working there do not put any effort to keep the hotel clean. Our room was not cleaned at all, only the towels were changed on a daily basis. The food was great, however there were not too many choices.

Rent a car, you will be able to see the island in two days.

Great location on 7 mile beach

The Beach Club has a great location in the middle of 7 Mile Beach and fantastic sunsets. The hotel is definately a 2 star affair with rooms in need of some cosmetic repairs. They offer a very reasonable all inclusive meal plan. The food is very unimaginative--and there is only 1 restaurant. Overall, the staff was friendly and quite helpful. And, you can’t beat "free" drinks on their patio with those killer Caymanian sunsets! Note: No real snorkeling is available along their stretch of beach. But, Resort Sports LTD on site and they do dive and snorkel trips. Also, check out Red Sail Sports next door.

Rum Point is probably the prettiest part of the island. Its a fun day trip and a great destination for lunch and snorkeling. Rum Point offers a restaurant, restrooms, a gift shop, dive shop, and security in their parking lot. If you want to snorkel more off the beaten path, try Smith Cove which is just south of George Town. Great snorkeling and easy access. You can easily get to either place by renting a Jeep for the day.

Beware of the cruise ships they cater to them at this resort

Beautiful beach but check with the front desk about "When they arrive". The last day we were at this resort 600+ (confirmed by the servers from a ticket count) were "visiting" for the day!! You are overwhelmed by how many days a week you have to deal with these cruise people, if you plan on just enjoying the beach. The shore diving was a joke, however, their dive shop has outstanding dive masters, fun and they know the dive sites. The Red Sails next door is almost twice the cost and the dive masters take you down to your deepest depth and then say "bye bye". The diving was wonderful, however, we would go back only to Little Cayman next time. NO CRUISE SHIPS go there! P.S. They plan on tearing this resort down so they are not keeping up with ANY repairs!

Our Second Trip to this Paradise

We long to be back at the Beach Club Colony. We just spent our second vacation at this fantastic hotel. It is the last vestage of the Carribean style beach front hotel. For those who want a quite, friendly place where you can step right onto the beach from your room this is the ONLY place on the island for you. The staff is the best we were remembered from our first trip and again cared for in every way.We heard it may be sold soon. Please, please do not sell this piece of heaven and replace it with condo’s. We want to continue to return, relax and enjoy

Right out in front of the hotel is a reef that we could snorkel to each day and see rays, turtles, lobsters and more in warm beautiful clear blue water only 15 feet deep.

This truly the Caribbean

We loved it! It’s a great place to kick it. Right on the beach, opened air dining and bar, helpful and friendly staff. What more could you want? By far the best value on the island. It was fun, fun, FUN!

A fine beach experience-great value

A very good value in a magnificent setting. The food was not stellar, but the beach experience was. I would definitely go back, if the place lasts, which word on the street says it will not.

If you are into marine life, do not miss sting ray city

Definitely 2 stars

This hotel works well for travelers on a budget. The rooms are clean but what you would expect of a 2 star hotel, as is the food. However, the location is fabulous, and the dining is open-air right on the beach.

I will be going back if not torn down.

This was a wonderful stay. This hotel is in a wonderful place on the beach. The talk is that this is going to be torn down in september. If you get a chance make sure you make it there. This isn’t a beautifl place. It was built around 1950’s. It is a older style and needs improvement, but clean and the people are friendly. The food was very good too. It’s appsolutely worth your money.

The beach was beautiful. The all inclusive package has everything you want to play on the beach. I went there for the beach and had a great time. You will love this place if you enjoy activities on the beach.

Wonderful experience!

Truly Caribbean feel! Only steps to beach! Very friendly staff. Buffets: good to delicious. Room are clean and comfortable. Great place to kick back and relax.

Great Deal - Wonderful Island

The all inclusive turned out to be a great deal! After paying for a lunch while we were away from the hotel one day, we discovered that all inclusive is the only way to go on that island. The hotel food was healthy, good tasting and varried. The queen size bed was not really queen...maybe for a princess! We slept sideways, placing chairs by our feet, just a tip that worked out. Also, if you are late sleepers, try to avoid rooms on the Hyatt side of the resort. There is a watersports hut that gets their delivery of air tanks in the morning at 8:00 so the tanks clanging each other is a wake up call.

Such a great all-inclusive vacation spot! We enjoyed scuba, snorkeling and lots of simple, well-prepared food. Great staff and overall attention to making guests comfortable and happy. If you enjoy simple comforts and don’t need designer chic, this is a terrific travel value!

Best kept secret in Cayman

We love this place. Small, low-key and right on the beach. Likely to be torn down for a high-rise condo building by September.

a wonderful stay

this is was my birthday celebration week and we had a wonderful time the resort was very helpful. i didn’t get my orignal room but they took care of us. the food was awesome and no complaints about their drinks either. the beach was beatiful . clean and always filled with people from everywhere. we met lots of people from everywhere very nice and we had a blast!! thank you for a great birthday! 2008

shop when the cruise ship in town it gets REALLY crowded.. but they do have great shops.

Weekend Getaway- We will be back!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel Fri- Sun the 2nd weekend in December. It is "older" but is well maintained and very clean. It is located on the beach and the eating area had a fabulous view of the beach and ocean. We thought that this hotel had some of the best property on Seven Mile Beach. The staff was pleasant and gave us a calendar of the events on site. For example, Sun. am we had a Caribbean style breakfast buffet. The room we had was the most basic one you can stay in at this place. The bathroom was kinda cramped because of the way the door opened. Otherwise, I thought the rooms were fine for our purpose. We used the snorkel equipment. It was cleaned in a large garbage can in some clean smelling soapy solution. The food at this all inclusive was pretty good considering we didn’t know what to expect. They have a menu you can order off of or you can eat the buffet (or both!). The alcoholic drinks were very weak and the liquor was not top shelf. This all was ok with us since we did not want to spend the entire trip sick from too much alcohol. They do have the typical Pepsi soda products. I do think the water and ice had a distinct taste to it. When the ice in my Pepsi melted, it tasted different. So did the water that I drank from the fancy glasses on the table. However, this is not the first place I have been to where the water tasted different. Overall,this was a great place to stay and eat. We would recommend this to anyone that is looking to get some R&R.

There was no cruise ships the weekend we were there. We planned it that way on purpose! The hotel rents half of the beach and restaurant to cruise ship guests when they are in port.

Great Trip!

When we first pulled up to the hotel there was a big "uh-oh" in our group. The entrance looks bad. But, once inside the hotel is fine. It is an older hotel but, the food and drinks were great. The staff was very helpful and friendly. It was a great place to stay and we would stay there again.

If you are a scuba diver then take the daily shuttle to the sister resort, Spanish Bay Reef, you can get in two shore dives and then catch the shuttle back. The dives are part of the all-inclusive package and won’t cost any extra. Just have the dive shop at Beach Club call ahead for you.

Great Bargain for the Cayman Islands!

We really enjoyed the all inclusive package. The food and drinks were great and the bartenders were very friendly. We also used floats and kayaks as part of the all inclusive plan. If you dive, they also let you use all equipment free of charge except for a wetsuit. The sister hotel, Reef resort had much better snorkeling, but it will close on July 15. This resort is right in the middle of seven mile beach which was nice. The rooms aren’t anything special, but it was comfortable. I would stay here again if I went back to Caymans.

Royal Palms beach bar is about a ten minute walk on the beach and has live bands many nights of the week, very fun place!

Love this Place!

Not the newest, shiniest hotel but it is clean,comfortable, the service is great (remember to tip), the food is good (make sure and do the all inclusive) and eating outside while the sun sets is awesome. Other guests were mostly English and you will find some locals at the bar. Atmosphere is laid back, don’t come here if you want a wild party or a 5 star hotel but if you want to relax it is perfect. The beach is beautiful. Great deal. We’re going back ASAP

Great Place

Upon pulling into the driveway I thought "Uh oh what have I done?!" But what you see is the maintenance and service side. Once inside the resort everything is very comfortable. The rooms are a little older but nicely kept. The all-inclusive is definitely the way to go. The dinner’s were excellent. Not your typical hotel style place, much easier to get comfortable in unless you require luxury style accomadations. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. I won’t stay anywhere else when we go back
